Physician Leadership Coaching

For Doctors Who Didn't Ask to Lead—But Do Anyway

"You won't feel ready. That's not the signal to wait for."

— Patrick Hudson MD, The Physician as Leader (CFP Press, 2025)

Modern medicine doesn't just need better systems. It needs wiser leaders.

And often, those leaders are physicians—thrust into roles they never trained for, tasked with managing peers, navigating politics, and holding together teams in a system that sometimes works against them.

If that's you, you're not alone. And you're not unqualified.

You're just in a role medicine never taught you how to inhabit.

As a retired surgeon, psychotherapist, and board-certified coach, I work with physician leaders who are balancing two hard things at once:

– Staying clinically sharp

– And leading with integrity in a fractured system

Whether you're a medical director, department chair, CMO, medical lead or reluctant committee lead, leadership today isn't about titles. It's about how you show up in the moments that test you.

If it's done well, your influence deepens even as your visibility shrinks."

—Patrick Hudson MD, The Physician as Leader (CFP Press, 2025)

I help physician leaders develop:

     - Emotional intelligence without emotional exhaustion

     - Assertiveness without arrogance

     - Influence without coercion

     - Conflict skills without shame

     - Vision without burnout

And I do it the way I wish someone had done it for me—honestly, quietly, without fluff or corporate lingo.

Leadership coaching is not about fixing you. It's about helping you lead as the doctor you already are—only with more clarity, calm, and ethical presence.

What We Teach

We teach physician leaders how to stay human while holding power. That means building emotional intelligence, managing conflict without collapse, leading people who don't want to be managed—and doing it all without losing your clinical voice or ethical compass. We don't teach charisma or quick-fix tactics. We teach how to lead from presence, not performance. How to tolerate discomfort, hold steady when the room gets tense, and shape culture without burning out.

What We Do

Through coaching, small group training, and reflective leadership sessions, we help physicians navigate the invisible shift from clinical authority to relational influence. We work on real conversations—feedback, resistance, triangulation, emotional tone—and practice the skills that shift rooms without raising your voice. You'll learn how to lead across roles, hold tension without apology, and build trust without needing to be liked. We don't offer scripts. We help you hear your own leadership voice—and use it clearly, even when it's hard.
